I have always found myself attracted to strange films and this one is no different. I recently watched Winter Passing with Zooey Deschanel and my favorite Wil Ferrel and it was the strangest , darkest movie which I enjoyed in that way I enjoyed Gardenstate. The heroine is angst filmed runaway slash actress with weird parents and a disgruntled childhood. She sniffs coke, drinks too much inflicts harm to herself and then finds herself after visiting her recluse father in rural Michigan. She finds him living in the garage and two strangers occupying his house which is being overtaken by books since Dad is a writer. The strangers turn out to be his caretakers, an ex student and an oddball musician, together they all seem to help each other, and with her arrival she finds herself in the midst of her fathers misery, her Mom commited suicide and the father is still reliving the tragedy in his everyday life.. The movie is interesting enough to keep watching however it is not this wonderfully climactic movie and I often dont like those types of movies anyway. I really enjoy watching Zooey her characters are offbeat interesting and introverted kind of like a new Winona Ryder for the 2000's. Will Ferrell is brilliant, I really love him in anything he does.
